"Bayport Stompers" We have chosen this name because the „Bayport Inn“ used to be our favorite restaurant in Florida (and where we first started to line dance).

We are not a club. There is no membership fee, no duties, no dress code. We are just a bunch of nice people of all ages who enjoy line dancing and having fun. Everybody can swing their hips as they please. Mainly, dancers need to be in time with the beat. Physical fitness is not our main goal, although you will certainly get plenty of exercise. We just want you to have line dance fun. We practice old dances, but also learn newer, current dances.

At events, such as birthday parties, reunions, company events, etc., we perform a line dance show. On request, we do a small workshop and teach line dances for beginners.

When our group gets together, the participants determine what kind of dances we will do. Anyone who wishes to plan an activity for the group, such as visits to other dancing saloons or country concerts, is welcome to do so. Anyone can participate at his own expense as he chooses. Of course we try to organize car pools when visiting distant events and we tend to chose places that all can afford.

So, if you would like to spend your leisure time with a group of folksy people, you are most welcome to participate.
